Together... We were married in 2001, and together have a strong desire to help the sub-Saharan African church grow by training local leaders to better understand God’s word and to teach it to others.
 
Pete... I grew up in Sydney. I became a Christian in high school, then studied Applied Arts (textiles) and Primary Teaching. After teaching in Western Sydney I completed a Masters of Divinity at Sydney Missionary and Bible College. Pete is particularly interested in the Old Testament and hermeneutics in an African context. Kathryn... I hale from a Christian family from Nowra, on the NSW South Coast. After school I studied Commerce and Secondary Education before completing a Diploma of Theology at SMBC. Visiting a few African countries when I was 13 profoundly impacted me, and I have since wanted to return long-term. Kathryn is interested in loving people and living a Jesus-centered life with and before them. Pete & Kathryn McCarthy are Christians who love the Lord Jesus & his word. Declare God’s glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples. For great is Yahweh & most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods.
